Residents and business owners are invited to have their say as the city of Birmingham seeks to map out a five-year plan for its parks and recreation offerings.
The city has spent $20 million in bond money in the past few years to pay for park upgrades. Public Services Director Lauren Wood says updating the city's Master Plan for parks and recreation is necessary for Birmingham to apply and secure grant funding.

"What we want to do is select capital projects that make the most sense and this is a great opportunity for residents to give us input," Wood said. "A large portion of this planning is going to focus on infrastructure improvements and developments."
