Two interior design students from Baker College of Auburn Hills will see their concept designs brought to life at the Care House of Oakland County.
Through a recent competition through the American Society of Interior Designers, the students submitted winning models for the waiting room and interview room at the new facility for Care House of Oakland County.
Sand and Sea, designed by second year ID student Nikki Risse, utilizes a beach type decor with Adirondack furniture and fencing. Recognized for her "excellent interpretation of a calming environment paired with color and novelty of thought," Nikki's design was chosen for the toddler to school age area.
Element of Nature, designed by second year ID student Christina Pratnicki, includes a water feature, fish mobile, and design elements with an outdoor feel. "Everyone loved the color scheme and use of fabric, interchangeable nature motifs and the thought process that was followed throughout the project," choosing Christina's design for the teenage area.
Both students worked with Baker College senior design student Alison Palmer to draw the rooms in a perspective format that showed the design concepts in full color.
