Five Guys Burgers and Fries is growing thanks to, well, their burgers and fries.

Abrams has one Five Guys Burgers and Fries up and running in Southfield, another opens Monday in Macomb Township; one more should debut May 4 in Warren, another this summer in Rochester Hills, and the fifth at an undetermined location later in 2009. That's a boatload of burgers.
He plans to open 40 total units during the next seven years in Michigan after buying the development rights for the state, with the exception of a portion of Oakland County owned by another franchisee who plans seven units in the same time frame.
"Business is 50 percent better than we expected," said Abrams who spends about $400,000 to open each location. "What drew me to it is it is a tremendously good product."
