Her S.E.E.D.S (Students Eagerly Engaged in the Development of
Stories) program is just one of many NEF grants awarded at the end of
the 2008-09 school year.
Israel's
students have used the Bare Books, covers and templates provided by the
grant to author their own fables. The published works are available in
the library for others to read, and the feedback from other students
about the books has been incredibly positive.
"It
has impacted the excitement in the building about writing," Israel
said. "We celebrate our efforts in writing whether it is in the process
or a completed work."
