Birmingham artist Victor Pytko will feature 20 of his paintings at the
Oakland County Executive Building in Waterford through Nov. 7.
The exhibition, A Collection of Paintings by Victor Pytko, features
multimedia paintings of local sites with elements ranging from
impressionism to expressionism. "I selected the pieces in this show
because in each I wanted to reveal something about the world as I saw
it, related to it, or wished it to be. Making the expression was the
goal." Literature by the artist is featured alongside the artwork.
Victor Pytko studied at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, Toledo
Art Institute, Monroe Community College, Ann Arbor Art Association,
Canton Art Institute, and Indiana University. He has recently received
awards at the Birmingham Festival of the Arts and an artist residency
with the Glen Arbor Art Association. He is also accredited with
creating private art collections and exhibiting artwork across the
state. He has exhibited in numerous galleries including Museum of
Contemporary Art Detroit, CAID, CPOP Gallery, Octane Studios, BooMa
Gallery, Sense Design, Studio 601, and the Ellen Kayrod Gallery. Pytko
is a resident of Birmingham with a studio in the Pioneer Building in
Detroit.
