Two major Birmingham developments on the east side of Woodward, each
designed by Neumann/Smith, have received final site approval.

The Mayfair will replace the Baker's Square restaurant on the northeast
corner of Bowers and Elm. The new project will consist of 130,0000
square feet of building containing 46 residential loft-style units and
17,000 square feet of commercial space on 1.3 acres of land.
In case of AAA, the company wants to replace a building that has served
the Birmingham area for 55 years. A new one-story landmark with a
40-foot-tall entry tower will line both Woodward and Forest to screen
the surface parking and provide a greater visual presence. It's also the first LEED building to go up in Birmingham.
