Scott MacMartin always dreamed of owning his own business one day. After spending eight years in the automotive industry in both engineering and sales, he decided to act on that dream by buying a Concerto Networks franchise.
"The sales side really excited me," MacMartin says. "I knew I wanted to be my own boss."
The IT company specializes in simplifying technology for small and medium-sized businesses. MacMartin has been catching on since starting 2.5 years ago. He has grown the business from just himself to four employees. He also has plans to add two more within the next year.
He has simplified what his customers want to three things when they work – functioning phone, computer and Internet connections. He helps make sure law firms and accountants and medical offices keep all of the main three things and more are online so the actual offices don't have to worry about it.
MacMartin sees a lot of growth potential in the small business market, especially with start-ups that just starting to take hold in Michigan.
"We're seeing a lot of action with new business coming to Michigan or just starting up," MacMartin says.
