Core3 Solutions plans to hire 5, expands marketing services

Core3 Solutions has traditionally been a software firm, helping other companies transition to new, more cost-effective e-commerce platforms. Now the Birmingham-based firm is growing thanks to an expansion into online marketing.

"That's where a large part of our revenue has been," says Paul Chambers, CEO of Core3 Solutions. "That and the website development side of our office."

The 14-year-old firm has added one more person to its staff since we last checked in with it three years ago, rounding out its staff to 13 people and the occasional intern. It is currently looking for a PHP web programmer and expects to add another five people over the next year. Those new hires will be mainly be programmers, designers and project managers.

Core3 Solutions has also launched a handful of internal startups. Among those are Taskmissile.com, which focuses on gathering client feedback, and Haveorneed.com, a Craigslist-style online sales platform.

"We took the Craiglist model and took out all of the bad things and made it much better," Chambers says.
