Creative Breakthroughs has found a way to break through the wall. And it's looking to burst through a few more over the next year.
The Troy-based IT firm expects to more than double its revenue this year, going from $17 million to $40 million. It also plans to add nearly 60 new jobs to its Michigan workforce in the same period. Not too bad for a company that has grown to 40 people since its founding in 1990.
"Here we are in a frustrating economy and we're doing well," says David Glenn, vice president of Creative Breakthroughs. "We're hiring. We're profitable. We're debt free."
Ahhh… Now if only more of Michigan's companies could be like that.
But it hasn't always been that way for Creative Breakthroughs. When the company started it lived off building computers, servers and networks. It took 10 years to work its way up to six employees.
Life changed when their business model was refocused on Internet security services. That specialty now accounts for 95 percent of the firm's business and has let it double its staff numbers a couple of times. The company is now looking at opening offices elsewhere in the Midwest and Europe to further grow its business.
"We're growing extremely rapidly," Glenn says.
What else would someone expect with a name like that?
