Crestview Technologies uses social media as a bridge between U.S. and Chinese firms

Crestview Technologies is Danielle Zhu's second shot at starting a business, and it's proving to be the charm.

The Novi-based firm started two years ago as an IT consulting gig. Today it has grown to a full-fledged business with four employees and a satellite office. The company now focuses on bridging the language barrier for firms investing in China. It creates web applications and is working on internal social media networks for companies that will create communication efficiencies.

"This is a huge growth area," Zhu says. "A lot of companies are using social media on the IT front. It makes for employee collaboration."

Zhu has worked in IT project management for years. Crestview Technologies now has an office in northern Virginia and is working toward creating more business in the public sector. She hopes to add two employees over the next year.
