Dynamic Intelligent Solutions found its place in business by mixing laboratory auto parts testing with 3-D technology, a niche that has given the 2-year-old start-up a reputation.
The Clinton Township-based firm specializes in optical measurement services when testing products under extreme climatic conditions, dimensional stability, and durability in the automotive, aerospace, government, marine, recreational vehicle and consumer goods markets. It allows the researchers to see how extreme temperatures impact the auto parts.
"We're the first testing laboratory to test auto parts with 3-D optical measurement technology," Phil Lewis, tech engineering manager for
Dynamic Intelligent Solutions. "We have found a niche in it."
Today the company employs four people and plans to add another 3-4 people as it expands its business. The firm is also licensing out the technology to auto and testing companies.
"The workload is becoming quite large," Lewis says.
