NetFusions becomes Effortless 24/7, looks for staff

Today, what was once Computers and Concepts is now Effortless 24/7, an example of how a local family business, the Rasheeds, has adapted, adopted, and improvised its way to success.

The Keego Harbor-based business started out selling PCs and Macs a quarter century ago. The arrival of big-box retailers like CompUSA forced Computers and Concepts into the service category. It became NetFusions with the rise of the Internet around 2000, focusing on web development.

Now that the age of computers is changing again, so is NetFusions, becoming Effortless 24/7. This represents the company's transition to more of an IT services firm, where the priority is delivering the best round-the-clock, hands-off service at the lowest costs.

"Now it's all about how do we drive the costs down from what we already have," says Abizer Rasheed, president of Effortless 24/7.

The firm is focusing on attracting small- and medium-size businesses and is trying to perfect the end-user experience at one consistent price. Right now it has 10 employees and a handful of independent contractors working toward this,
and plans to hire 1-2 more this year.

The new hires will focus on heading off IT problems. Rasheed likes to claim that his staff catches 85 percent of glitches before they become problems, saving companies up to 30 percent on their IT costs. To them it's another way the company has evolved to stay alive and flourish.
