Fakhoury Law Group hires 7 to grow employment immigration practice

Globalization has turned into a economic engine driving the growth of Fakhoury Law Group.

The Troy-based immigration law practice has focused its efforts on not only helping domestic companies bring in highly-skilled International talent (think PhDs from other countries who want to work for U.S. firms) but also helping U.S. firms export their skilled workforce in order to help with international expansion in places like China and other growing markets.

"As companies have gone global they need to bring over personnel," says Rami D. Fakhoury, founder & managing director of Fakhoury Law Group. "These are highly skilled individuals and investors. With the global economy growing we are witnessing a lot of movement of highly skilled people."

Fakhoury Law Group has watched its U.S. business jump 25 percent in the last year while its global arm has gone up 45 percent. That has allowed the company to hire seven people over the last year, expanding its staff to 35 people and an intern. Fakhoury expects that growth to not only continue but ramp up as the global economy continues to recover from the recession.

"We feel we are on the rising wave," Fakhoury says. "There will be far more positions created."
