The recession has hit different businesses in a number of different ways. Levy & Associates has bucked the trend of many by growing during these tough times. How? By helping people resolve tax issues with the IRS and state authorities.
"We have been blessed with rapid growth," Lawrence Levy, president & CEO of
Levy & Associates. He says that in the humblest way possible. He is aware that people are suffering in these economic times, but akes solace in the knowledge that his firm helps people move beyond those challenges.
The Southfield-based firm has hired five people over the last year, expanding the 15-year-old firm to 23 employees. Levy expects that growth to continue as the effects of the Great Recession continue to ripple out over the rest of the decade.
"The problem is folks are having a hard time digging out of the hole," Levy says. "The IRS and the state are set up very differently for resolutions. People are always going to have tax problems. There will be lingering tax problems for many, many years."
