PMV uses triple-digit growth to fuel more hiring

If auto-manufacturing jobs are on the decline in Metro Detroit then IT jobs are definitely on the upswing. Troy-based PMV Technologies is joining the ranks of local IT firms growing their payrolls, expanding their staff and fattening their bottom lines.

The firm, founded with 24 employees in the fall of 2004, currently has four open positions of the 40 people who work for it. If growth stays on its current course the business's leaders expect to add another 10 to 20 people within two years.

"We're constantly growing and looking for new employees," says Scott Goemmel, partner with PMV Technologies.

PMV specializes in making sure other businesses' IT systems work without problems. The theory goes: by managing and outsourcing computer system management, clients have more reliable systems and lose less of their valuable productive time trying to correct frustrating computer snafus.

The company has enjoyed 100 percent or more growth in each of its first four years. Now that PMV is a little more established it's taming its growth expectation to 70 percent this year. But as far as the management is concerned, the sky is still the limit.
