Scalable Informatics revenue rises 11.7 percent

Scalable Informatics has watched its numbers climb in 2010, growing its revenue 11.7 percent.

The Canton-based start-up creates technology for high performance computing systems -- the kinds that handle computation- and data-intensive problems for academic research or financial programs that consume, read, and write gigabyte after gigabyte of information at accelerating speeds.

"We're seeing substantial growth in these markets, such as financial, media, and animation," says Joe Landman, CEO of Scalable Informatics.

This year the 8-year-old firm expects to nail down some new customers, along with some financing for an expansion to could allow it to add a few more positions to its staff of three employees and two independent contractors.

"We're very actively looking to grow this much faster," Landman says. "We're looking to pull out as many stops as we can."
