Decisions that businesses put off during the worst times of the recent recession are coming back to benefit VIOPOINT.
The Auburn Hills-based IT security firm specializes in providing IT security products and consulting services to small- and medium-sized businesses. It has watched the demand for its services rise in the last year or so, prompting it to hire three people in the last year. The 5-year-old company now has a staff of seven employees and a handful of independent contractors.
"A lot of purchases on IT security services were delayed because of the recession," says Mark Murphy, COO of
VIOPOINT. "There is a lot of demand for them now."
Also driving the demand is the increased regulations that companies need to meet. That demand is most acute in the health-care and financial industries that have to conform to regulations from the likes
HIPPA and
Sabres Oxley legislation.
VIOPOINT plans to add a few more hires this year as it continues to spread it client base outside of the Midwest.
