Michigan Film Office seminar to present new strategies for local film industry jobs

A seminar called "The Film and Digital Media Revolution in Michigan" will help people interested in movie industry careers find out how to jump-start their job searches in the Motor City.

This seminar is presented by Richard Jewell, who heads workforce development for the Michigan Film Office. His mission is to develop and sustain a skilled labor pool of creatives in the film and digital media worlds to work on the many movies, docs and TV shows now filming in Michigan.

The seminars, which begin Sept. 28, will help attendees understand how their skill sets match up to the tremendous opportunities created by Michigan's burgeoning film industry. Jewell will also address how newcomers should tap into the industry, and what issues face Michigan's sustainability in the film industry. After the presentation, an hour of networking will help attendees make their first steps toward securing a real film job.
