Car geeks have their say at Ignite 2 Automotive

You've got five minutes to share an idea -- if you've got the courage to stand up.

Interested in the challenge? The Ignite Automotive series travel the country with TED-style fast-paced discussions on new ideas and challenges in the automotive industry. The speakers are backed by 20 slides that change every 15 seconds, whether they like it or not. For listeners, it's a chance to mix with other passionate industry insiders while learning at a quick, attentive taste.

Past speakers have included Mike Bauer, Doug Van Slembrouck, Elizabeth Briody, Nikunj Jain, Charlie Wollborg, Mohan Tanniru, Norman Witte III, James T. Low, Gregg Garrett and Bil Moore. They've discussed everything from electric vehicles, design, cloud-based automobiles, to solar paneled pavement.

The next Ignite 2 Automotive will be held at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m., joining with 45 events over five continents for Global Ignite Week. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at igniteautomotive.org.
