It's called "Under the Radar," but it may not stay that way for long.
Hosted by longtime Rochester resident Tom Daldin, "Under the Radar Michigan" takes a format similar to the Travel Channel, and uses it to explore everything that makes Michigan great, from its small towns to its natural treasures.
It's broadcast on PBS at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday mornings and recently featured the city of Rochester in an episode.

The 13-episode program has been airing for six months and will have featured 28 cities by the time season one is complete. The "Under the Radar" crew typically starts each 30-minute episode in one city and ends in another. The upcoming episode about Rochester was filmed during the city’s popular Big, Bright Light Show.
Daldin teamed up with friend and partner Jim Edelman to make the show possible. The two said that they set out to encourage their viewers to rediscover Michigan.
"The most rewarding thing is … people don’t come up to me and say, 'Hey, dude, saw your show.' They say, 'Hey, I saw your show. Thank you so much for doing this,'" said Daldin, adding that people also stop him to say they did something he promoted on the show.
