How many more jobs will Michigan have to lose to finally understand

confrontation" and into a "state of cohesion and cooperation."
Heightened global competition demands that multidisciplinary teams
(government, business, labor, education) function as a single unit
ready to win the battle -- to do whatever it takes.
Establishing
an Aerotropolis, or airport city, is a symbol of that change and an
opportunity to create 64,000 jobs and generate more than $10 billion of
additional annual economic activity over 25 years. If we are ever going
to bring back the 783,000 jobs lost during the last decade, there is no
better place to start than Aerotropolis.
Michigan still retains
one of the best and brightest work forces in the world. It is an
attractive place to live and work. We are blessed with world-class
institutions of higher education. We have the largest supply of fresh
water in the world. We are on both the information and NAFTA highway.
More trade comes through our border than any other place in the world.
