It's that time of year as the city once again honors the outstanding members of Dearborn's fine and performing arts community at the 22nd annual Mayor's Arts Awards Feb. 10 in the Michael Guido Theater at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.
The ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public. A reception in Studio A, next to the theater, will follow immediately after the ceremony.
The awards were created by Dearborn Community Arts Council (DCAC) and late mayor, Michael Guido, to honor those members of the community who create, perform, educate, and the support the fine and performing arts, making them a special part of Dearborn’s community life.
"The awards are great because they honor not only the artists and performers, but also the 'unsung heroes' of the arts community -- the educations, volunteers, organizations and patrons of the arts who are directly connected to the success of the arts in our community but don't always get the applause they deserve," said DCAC president Greg Viscomi.
